You would never know it, but prior to 2016, Jessica Clark-Bojin didn't consider herself a baker — in fact, she didn't bake at all. That year, however, a New Year's resolution to swear off refined sugar brought her to pie-making: "It was the only dessert I could think of that didn't require any refined sugar to taste 'real,'" she said.So, in an effort to keep a little sweetness in her life, Clark-Bojin bought a box of shortening and followed the pie crust recipe on the back. And rather than sticking with a simple crimped edge or lattice crust, she decided to get a creative. Two years later, that creativity has paid off — she's become famous for her amazingly intricate pie crust creations, which she shows off on her Instagram account @thepieous.So far, the talented baker has created pies fashioned after pop culture icons, cartoon characters, adorable animals, and more.
