An armed man shot while charging at a Yuba County sheriff's deputy in Olivehurst on Friday has been released from the hospital and has been arrested, authorities said.
Howard John Barton, 65, was discharged from Adventist Rideout Hospital late Saturday and then arrested, the Yuba County District Attorney's Office said on Sunday.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Office previously said the shooting happened around 2:47 p.m. at the 5400 block of Feather River Boulevard and described the suspect as being armed with an ax.
The sheriff's office said their deputy was not injured.
