$2 million for a pool? A California wine country property listing that's more than meets the eye
A Sonoma County property with only a pool remaining is being offered at $1,995,000.
The 2019 Kincaid Fire destroyed the home that once stood at 10547 Chalkhlll Road in Healdsburg, but the pool is surrounded by five acres and provides a view of Mount Saint Helena.
Real estate company Live Wine Country describes the property as a "shovel-ready opportunity" for any buyer looking to build their dream home.
Tatiana McWilliams, the founder of Live Wine Country, told KCRA 3 that one of the biggest benefits of the listing is that the land sale includes issued permits for the building, septic and grading, and everything needed to begin construction immediately.
"The permitting process in Sonoma County is so long and tedious that having all the entitlements in place is a huge savings and time savings for anyone looking to build a new home in the wine country," McWilliams said.
McWilliams added that the owners have dealt with a "long, sad and painful" process to move on from the property.
"They have searched for years for a replacement wine country property but none compare to the setting and views this one has," said McWilliams.
