Celebrities spotted at the 2024 Democratic National Convention
The 2024 Democratic National Convention featured several celebrities who attended or performed in support of Vice President Kamala Harris and vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Here are some of the celebrities spotted at the 2024 DNC:
Eva Longoria
Actress and director Eva Longoria spoke ahead of Harris on the final night of the DNC in Chicago.
Pink
Pink performed "What About Us" with her daughter, Willow, on the last night of the DNC.
It was the first major politically-set performance for Pink, who has been outspoken about causes she is passionate about throughout her career.
Pink has been a longtime advocate of the LGBTQ community and women’s rights and has supported organizations that align with Democratic issues, including Planned Parenthood, the Human Rights Campaign and more.
D.L. Hughley
Comedian D.L. Hughley spoke on the last night of the DNC, endorsing Harris and delivering a few jokes about her and her opponent, former President Donald Trump.
The Chicks
The Chicks performed the National Anthem on Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention.
The country music group – formerly known as the Dixie Chicks — performing at the National Anthem was a notable booking for the convention – not just because of country music’s historically conservative-leaning fanbases – but because of the band’s past that has infamously intertwined with politics.
In 2003, before the invasion of Iraq, the band’s lead singer Natalie Maines said at a concert that the group, which got its start in Dallas, did not endorse the war and were “ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.”
Their remarks about then-President George W. Bush triggered boycotts and backlash from fans, resulting in country stations across the country pulling the group’s music from the radio. At the time, in March 2003, CNN reported that “station managers said their decisions were prompted by calls from irate listeners who thought criticism of the president was unpatriotic.”
This was not the first convention appearance for The Chicks, who also performed at the virtual 2020 DNC during the pandemic.
Watch their performance in the video below.
Kerry Washington
Actress Kerry Washington was the host of the final night of the DNC.
Washington, one of the most politically active celebrities in Hollywood, has her own political nonprofit, Influence Change, which recruits fellow artists to promote civic engagement. She served a similar role at the 2020 DNC, where she opened the third night. The actress and activist, who played a political fixer on Shonda Rhimes’ “Scandal,” also spoke at the 2012 DNC.
Steph Curry
Golden State Warriors legend Steph Curry made an appearance at the DNC on Thursday in a video where he endorsed Kamala Harris.
This comes after Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke at the convention on Monday, also endorsing Harris.
Harris has been a long-time fan of the Golden State Warriors as she grew up in the Bay Area.
John Legend
Grammy award-winning singer John Legend and percussionist Sheila E. performed Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" at the DNC, paying tribute to the legendary Minnesota musician ahead of Walz’s speech.
Sheila E. was Prince’s longtime friend and collaborator. Legend has been an outspoken supporter of President Joe Biden and Harris. He also performed Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” at the Biden-Harris inauguration in 2021.
Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey, one of the most powerful, successful and influential women in the world, spoke during the Democratic National Convention program Wednesday night, lending her voice and support to Harris’ presidential bid.
Winfrey spoke during the lead-up to Walz’s acceptance of the Democratic vice presidential nomination.
Winfrey was first spotted in the basement of the United Center, telling one person in the hallways, "I’m so happy to be here."
Winfrey is no stranger to politics. Her endorsement of former President Barack Obama in 2008 made headlines worldwide. She endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016, but largely stayed off the trail.
Stevie Wonder
Grammy-winner Stevie Wonder gave a speech at the DNC on Wednesday, preaching about the importance of electing Kamala Harris.
After his speech, he then performed "People."
Kenan Thompson
Actor and comedian Kenan Thompson appeared on stage to speak about Project 2025.
Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling, an actress and comedian, was the DNC's host on Wednesday night. Prior to the event, Kaling was seen prepping her speech at the podium.
Kaling has identified as a Democrat and spoken out against the Republican Party several times.
Maren Morris
Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Maren Morris appeared on stage at the DNC singing a country song, "Better Than We Found It."
This was big for Morris because she stated that she would no longer be signing country music due to the sociopolitical divide in country music.
Ana Navarro
Ana Navarro, a co-host of ABC's "The View" and a contributor with CNN, served as Tuesday's program host.
Navarro, who says she is a Republican, has lent her support for Democratic candidates over the past decade, ever since Trump entered politics. Navarro has said that she voted for a Democrat for the first time in her life in 2016, when Clinton ran against Trump. Navarro has said she supports Harris.
Eva Longoria
Corpus Christi, Texas, native Eva Longoria spoke briefly on behalf of Texas delegates before handing the mic off to Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood. Texas’ portion of the roll call was underscored by an instrumental version of Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em.” The state cast 263 votes for Harris.
The actor and producer has been an outspoken supporter of reproductive rights and produced a 2018 documentary, “Reversing Roe,” about abortion rights and access in America.
Lil Jon
From the windows to the Walz, Lil Jon made a surprise appearance at the convention during the roll call for Georgia.
He proceeded to sing "Turn Down for What" while dancing throughout the convention.
Spike Lee
Legendary filmmaker Spike Lee was spotted standing next to New York Governor Kathy Hochul during the New York roll call.
Patti LaBelle

Sean Astin
Actor Sean Astin, best known for playing the titular Notre Dame football player in “Rudy,” joined the Indiana delegation to help cast its 86 delegates for Harris and Walz.
“I want what’s best for Indiana and that means electing Kamala Harris the first woman president of the United States of America,” Astin said.
Wendell Pierce
Actor Wendell Pierce joined the delegates from his home state of Louisiana to express his personal endorsement of Harris and help the state announce its 47 votes for Harris.
“I’m a proud son of Louisiana and Louisiana is about family, and I’m surrounded by my family of the delegates of Louisiana,” Pierce said.
“The Wire” star has been outspoken about his support for Democratic candidates for years.
Common

Stephen Colbert was spotted on the floor of the convention in true Stephen Colbert fashion, dressed as a Chicago native.
With a beard and dressed in full Chicago Bulls gear, Colbert was seen talking to Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker.
Tony Goldwyn
Tony Goldwyn, an actor most known for playing the president on the show "Scandal" was seen prepping his speech on Monday for the 2024 DNC.
Goldwyn will be hosting the event on Monday.
Mickey Guyton
Country singer Mickey Guyton was spotted on stage at the DNC.
Guyton previously endorsed and helped campaign for President Biden and former President Barack Obama.
James Taylor
Singer James Taylor was also spotted rehearsing on the DNC stage ahead of his performance on Monday night.
Steve Kerr
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke Monday night, getting applause after mentioning his role as coach of the U.S. men's basketball team, which won gold at the Paris Olympics earlier this month.
Kerr has been a supporter of the Biden administration and has previously spoken out about issues like reducing gun violence. Harris, who is from California, is also an avid Warriors fan.
