Sacramento is the Farm-to-Fork Capital of America, and the Central Valley produces about 25% of the nation’s food, yet our neighbors experience hunger at a higher rate than the state and national averages. More than 1 in 4 in Sacramento County are at risk of hunger. The KCRA 3 Kids Can! Food Drive has been helping to feed hungry families in our community since 1987. Children, parents and teachers brought in more than 153,000 pounds of food in 2023. We need your help now more than ever and hope that you will be able to participate in the drive once again.The primary participants in the drive are schools throughout Northern California, but anyone can help by donating nonperishable food items to any participating school.
