Based on the movie, The Polar Express train gives families a chance to enjoy some cocoa while staff sing and dance their way on a North Pole-bound ride that begins in Old Sacramento.
And, of course, children who make Santa's nice list will receive the first gift of Christmas: a silver sleigh bell they will find familiar if they've seen the movie.
There are seven separate cars on the train ride, each with their own theme. Tickets start at $80, but first-class seats can go for up to $110 per passenger. Some cars also offer tables of four that range from $400-440 per table.
Sales began Sept. 16 at 9 a.m., but pre-sale started Sept. 4. However to have become eligible for pre-sale, buyers had to become members of the California State Railroad Museum Foundation by Aug. 29.
When pre-sale becomes available depends on your level of membership, with the more expensive memberships receiving access earlier.
Children under age 2 do not need a ticket if they ride on an adult's lap, according to the museum's website.
The Polar Express train ride will run from Nov. 16 through Dec. 22 this year. There will be no 8 p.m. train ride on Dec. 22.
