Capital Cup set to tee off, celebrating a decade of raising money for Sacramento charities
The 10th annual Capital Cup Charity Golf Tournament tees off on Friday, September 13.
The three-day tournament will feature 32 local businesses working to raise money for 92 different charity organizations.
The Capital Cup Charity Golf Tournament is the second-largest charity event in Sacramento behind the Big Day of Giving. The charity event has raised over $17 million in the last decade and looks to surpass the $20 million mark at this year’s event.
"Never imagined it could get to this level," said the tournament's golf commissions Kerry Gordon. "As a matter of fact, we're raising more money than a number of PGA events raise."
Each player picks a specific charity and is responsible for raising money for their charity. The player entry fee of $2800 will also go directly to the selected charity. This ensures that 100% of all proceeds go directly to the supported charities.
Each of the three days of the tournament will feature a different golf course: the North Ridge Country Club in Fair Oaks, the Granite Bay Country Club and the Del Paso Country Club.
