Park ranger saves the day

NATIONAL PARK RANGER. TEAGAN THOMPSON DOESN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT BUMPING ON BOARD. WHETHER HE’S IN HER BIKE BASKET OR JUST NEARBY. THE FIVE YEAR OLD HAS A BOATLOAD OF STUFFED ANIMALS IN HER ROOM, BUT BUMPY KITTY IS THE FAVORITE. THE BEADS SEWN ONTO HIS EAR AND TAG HELP WITH HER SENSORY PROCESSING DIFFICULTIES. SHE’S TAKEN TO IT, AND IT HAS TURNED INTO A SECURITY STUFFY FOR HER. WHEN THE FAMILY MADE A DAY TRIP TO GETTYSBURG SATURDAY, BUMPY WENT ALONG. WE LIKE TO SEE NATURE GROWING UP. WE LIKE TO BE JUST SURROUNDED BY THE HISTORY. SHE LOVES LEARNING. BUT WHEN THE FAMILY RETURNED HOME, BUMPY WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. THEY LOOKED AT PHOTOS TO DETERMINE WHERE HE GOT LOST, AND THEN ALEXA MADE A CALL. HOW ARE YOU DOING, GUYS? A LAW ENFORCEMENT RANGER WENT ON A SEARCH AND RESCUE MISSION, BUT INITIALLY CAME UP EMPTY HANDED. TEAGAN WAS TRYING TO GO TO BED THAT NIGHT WITH HER BACKUP. ALMOST BUMPY. HER MOTHER HAD SEWN SOME BEADS ON THE TAG IN THE EAR, AND THEN SHE GOT A TEXT. I GOT A TEXT ON MY PHONE AND IT SAYS, IS THIS THE CRITTER THAT GOT LOOSE? AND THERE WAS BUMPY SITTING ON A ROCK IN DEVIL’S DEN, AND MY HUSBAND AND I SAT THERE AND KIND OF YOU KNOW, WE SHED SOME TEARS. THE ENTIRE AREA IS, IS TYPICALLY JUST SIMPLY KNOWN AS DEVIL’S DEN. COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST JASON MARSH SAYS HE’S HAPPY PARK RANGER JOE HAD A SUCCESSFUL SEARCH AND RESCUE MISSION. WE’RE HAPPY TO DO IT AND TO TO USE THE TERMINOLOGY, TO SERVE AND PROTECT. WE WERE DOING JUST THAT. THE FAMILY RETRIEVED BUMPY KITTY ON SUNDAY. HE HAS A NEW RANGER HAT AND PATCHES THIS MAN WENT OUT OF HIS WAY, WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT WE COULD HAVE EXPECTED AFTER HOURS ON THE BATTLEFIELD. HE’S NO WORSE FOR THE WEAR AND GETTING A LOT OF LOVE IN LANCASTER COUNTY, SUSAN SHAPIRO WGAL NEWS EIGHT. I THINK THAT’S MY FAVORITE STORY OF THE WEEK. THAT IS SUCH A GREAT STORY. REALLY NICE WHAT THEY DID. I MEAN, YOU GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO FIND PEOPLE BACK HOME WHERE HE BELONGS, YOU KNOW, ALMOST BUMPY’S FINE, BUT NO BUMPY, ALMOST BUMPY, NOT QUITE BUMPY. BUMPY. BUT THERE’S A BACKUP. BU
