The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have donated $10,000 to the family of Connor Barba who died after a crash on the way to a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPN. Monday was supposed to be a special night for Barba after his mother, Megan Barnett, bought tickets to the game to celebrate his birthday. Instead, Barba’s life was cut short after he and Megan Barnett were involved in a head-on crash on Saturday.Megan Barnett was badly injured in the crash and is currently in an intensive care unit at a Tulsa hospital, according to a GoFundMe page."He really wanted to see Baker Mayfield play, and Megan, I think, wanted to see the Chiefs play, likely the Taylor Swift connection," said Colin Barnett, Barba’s uncle and Megan Barnett’s brother.ESPN reported that quarterback Baker Mayfield said through a team representative that he planned on reaching out to the family."My thoughts and prayers go out to Megan and her family as they deal with this heartbreaking loss," Mayfield said in a statement. "I am honored and humbled knowing that Connor was such a big fan. I would have loved to have met him. As a new parent, this really hits home for me. I realize there are no words that can provide true comfort at a time such as this, but I hope that Megan makes a full recovery and that she draws strength from the outpouring of support she is receiving from around the country."
