Looking for an outdoor ice skating rink in Northern California? Well, you're in luck. A number of rinks have opened for the holiday season. Check out the list below to find one near you.
Brentwood
Brentwood on Ice has opened for its eighth season. The rink operates from Nov. 22 to Jan. 8. Onsite is a snack bar and rentable lockers. Tickets are $17 with skates and $15 without. Click here to learn more.
Cal Expo
The largest holiday light show is set to return to Northern California. Imaginarium is back at the Cal Expo in Sacramento. The winter-themed light festival “Holiday Magic” features more than 5 million lights. The walk-through displays LED rose gardens, illuminated forest mazes and more than 25 creatures and storybook characters. Onsite is an outdoor ice rink and carnival rides. Click here to learn more.
Downtown Sacramento
The Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink reopened on Nov. 6 for its 32nd season in Sacramento. The rink at Ali Youssefi Square on 7th and K streets operates from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. It will operate until Jan. 20. General admission is $15 for adults and $8 for kids aged 6 and under. Tickets include skate rentals. Active military and veterans with valid military IDs skate for free. Click here to learn more.
South Sacramento
A seasonal ice rink is open at the corner of Florin Road and Franklin Boulevard in the FoodMaxx parking lot on Thursdays through Sundays. The "Winterfest" rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Jan. 12. You can also expect a holiday tree farm and a market place. Skating is $12 for adults and $10 for youth and seniors.
Folsom
The ice rink centered among Folsom's historic downtown opened for the winter season on Nov. 8. "Get ready to lace up your skates and experience the magic of winter in Historic Folsom!" read a news release announcing the opening. The rink, which features a party zone, reserved fireside seating and skate rentals and lessons, is scheduled to remain open through Jan. 20. Modesto
Modesto on Ice is back. The rinks operate from Nov. 23 to Jan. 20. Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for kids ages 3 to 12. Click here to learn more.

Turlock Fields of Ice operates from Nov. 22 to Jan. 20 at R.A.M. Farm. Onsite will be a photo opportunity with Santa and ice skating lessons. Weekday tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for kids. Weekend and holiday tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for kids. Click here to learn more.
Truckee
An outdoor ice skating rink is set to open Friday at Truckee River Regional Park. The rink will host public skating, rentals, private lessons and other ice-related activities. Walnut Creek
The 19th season of Walnut Creek on Ice is underway. The outdoor rink and ice slide operate from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1 and Dec. 20 to Jan. 5. Tickets are $20. The rink also offers an ice skating academy teaching group and private lessons. Click here to learn more.
