Freeway shooting temporarily shuts down northbound I-5 in Sacramento, CHP says
A freeway shooting temporarily shut down northbound Interstate 5 in Sacramento on Friday, the California Highway Patrol said.
Caltrans cameras showed traffic at a standstill shortly before 11 a.m. before drivers began moving again around 11:20 a.m. There was heavy traffic on both I-5 and Highway 50.
CHP said it got reports of a shooting at 5:45 a.m. near J Street along the freeway. No one was injured in the shooting. Officers closed the freeway to clear debris from the roadway and canvas for evidence.
There is no suspect information, CHP said.
