COMMUNITY’S HELP TO FIND THE SUSPECT. TO HEAR THAT THAT HAPPENED SO CLOSE TO HOME AND SO RECENTLY, ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOLIDAY TIMES, AGAIN, IT’S SCARY. IT’S NERVE WRACKING. DAVIS RESIDENTS ARE ON EDGE AS POLICE SEARCH FOR A MAN THEY SAY SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A WOMAN AT A PARK WORKING SO CLOSE. I HAVE GONE TO THE PARK JUST TO KIND OF TAKE A WALK AND HAVE A RELEASE. SO YEAH, I HAVE BEEN TO THIS PARK PLENTY OF TIMES. IT HAPPENED THURSDAY EVENING AS THE WOMAN WAS WALKING THROUGH SLIDE HILL PARK. DEFINITELY A LOT OF WOMEN IN THIS AREA THAT, YOU KNOW, FEEL FREE AND COMFORTABLE TO MOVE ABOUT THEIR THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD. AND NOW TO KNOW THAT IT’S NOT AS SAFE OR IT DOESN’T FEEL AS SAFE AGAIN, IT’S SCARY TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERNS, DAVIS POLICE WILL BE INCREASING PATROLS AROUND SLIDE HILL PARK AND OTHER AREAS IN THE CITY. DAN BECKWITH WITH DAVIS POLICE, SAYS THE SUSPECT WAS LAST SEEN WEARING A BLACK HOODED SWEATSHIRT WITH THE HOOD PULLED OVER HIS HEAD, DARK PANTS AND A MASK THAT COVERED HIS FACE UP TO HIS EYES. IT’S NOT A NORMAL INSTANCE IN THIS TOWN, AND THIS IS THE ONLY INSTANCE SO FAR THAT WE’VE RECEIVED. AS DETECTIVES CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE, THEY’RE ASKING FOR THE COMMUNITY’S HELP. IF THEY HAVE ANY RING, CAMERA OR SURVEILLANCE CAMERA THAT MAY FACE OUTWARD EVEN IF IT DOESN’T CATCH THE PARK DIRECTLY. AGAIN, THAT COULD BE CRITICALLY IMPORTANT EVIDENCE FOR US. IN THE MEANTIME, POLICE SAY IT’S IMPORTANT TO STAY VIGILANT. IT MAKES ME KIND OF FEEL LIKE MAYBE I NEED TO KEEP PROTECTION ON ME OF SOME KIND, JUST IN CASE, BECAUSE, YEAH, NOW IT’S LIKE YOU NEVER KNOW. AND DAVIS POLICE SAYS THAT IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE ASSAULT, THAT THEY CONTACT
