They say teams are like families, and the Louisville Bats just made that true.The Cincinnati Reds signed free agent pitcher Casey Kelly to a minor league contract with the Bats.Video above: Reds, Braves to play MLB game at famed NASCAR track in 2025Casey just so happens to be the son of the Bats' manager, Pat Kelly.This is a first in Louisville Bats history that there will be a father-son duo with the organization.Casey joins the Bats after spending the last six seasons with the LG Twins of the KBO in Korea.While with the LG Twins, he led them in wins and was named an All-Star in 2022. He also won a Korean Series Championship with the team last year.This will be Casey's first U.S. professional stint since 2018.He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2009 and has played for the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres organizations.His debut with the Bats is scheduled for Sunday against Charlotte. The first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
