ON SATURDAY, SANTA STOPPED BY A HOLIDAY EVENT ON THIRD STREET IN SAN JUAN BAUTISTA. IT'S CALLED A TREE FOR THEE. THE FREE EVENT IS GIVING OUT CHRISTMAS TREES WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS TO FAMILIES THAT CANNOT AFFORD TO SPEND ON THE HOLIDAY TRADITION.

The community of San Juan Bautista, California, came together on Saturday to decorate Christmas trees for families in need. On Saturday, Santa also stopped by the holiday event on Third Street.See the story in the video aboveThe event, called "A Tree for Thee," provided free Christmas trees with all the trimmings to families who cannot afford to spend on the holiday tradition."I'm very happy and thankful to the person who made this because, as I said, they help us save a little money for the kids' gifts," Daniela Santos said. "We can spend the money on other stuff like that.""Trees range anywhere from $40 up to $200," said Graciela Nutter, a member of A Tree for Thee.A committee called the Movers and Shakers organized the event along with a local nonprofit called Discover San Juan Bautista."We work hard at just bringing businesses together, bringing families together, bringing the town as a whole together," Nutter said. "That is part of our motto that we have, is to just create unity within the city and create community."The community decorated the trees from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.The fully decorated trees were on display Saturday night from 7-9 p.m. Everyone was invited to stop by after the Lights On Parade.The fully decorated Christmas trees will be donated to families in need on Monday."Christmas is all about the tree and the lights," said Kristina Hastings, a member of Discover San Juan Bautista. "So, it could be a little bit more brighter for them at the end of the year that they had a tree."
