Andres Valle
ReporterAndres Valle joined KCRA 3 as a reporter in the summer of 2024. He's thrilled to be in Northern California after working in the Southwest.
He comes to Sacramento from Albuquerque where he worked as a weather forecaster and reporter for KOAT 7, a Hearst TV station. During his time there, he covered the entire state of New Mexico, from severe weather in the Albuquerque metro area to raging floodwaters in the Rio Grande, dust storms in the desert and snowstorms across the mountains. Andres became skilled in forecasting New Mexico's various micro-climates.
He covered a variety of immigration issues on the southern border for KOAT, including Title 42 ending, migrant surges on the streets of El Paso, ride-alongs with Customs and Border Patrol officers and human smuggling threats.
Prior to KOAT, Andres worked in El Paso at KVIA ABC-7 as Good Morning El Paso's Traffic/Weather anchor and midday anchor and producer.
Andres attended New Mexico State University and received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication. At NMSU, he was heavily involved with KRWG News 22, the student-run live news that aired three times a week on PBS.
Andres is originally from San Diego where he grew up watching local TV news stations with the dream of becoming a weather forecaster and journalist one day. Now he's living that dream.
He loves to hike, cook, snowboard, and meet people. If you have any story ideas or recipes, you can email him at andres.valle@hearst.com.
